iDeadpool

This was my birthday breakfast. It was delicious. I'd like to thank Holy Taco for the amazing idea.

I'd like to begin 2009 by asking for a moratorium on using pronouns as prefixes. It's ridiculous and it needs to end. It doesn't making your product seem more hip. Stop it.

I only seem to blog when I'm procrastinating, although I maintain my moblog and twitter accounts fairly consistently. I've been meaning to muse on some things for the past month and I've probably forgotten most of them by now. I'll try to address a few of them.

Wrapping the year up: One person on my 2008 deadpool passed, Gordon Hinkley. I'm really rather disapointed in myself given the impressive number of deaths in the past year. I'm hoping to do better this year, as morbid as that is. Clearly, I don't want any of these people to die, but I also like being right and feeling slightly prophetic. You can play along at home too! Just write down the top ten notable people you feel may expire in the coming year. The person with the most deceased on their list at the end of the year gets the satisfaction of knowing they're responsible for the world being a little less bright. It's fun!

On blogging: I made 264 posts on this blog, passing the 500 and 700 post marks. I also created my moblog, which has over 3,500 posts of useless thoughts, and a comblog(?) which is a bit of both? I'll probably add a twitter widget to that eventually too, likely instead of writing a paper of some sort.

Today's procrastination is buying textbooks. Although I'm excited for the new semester, I don't especially care to get dressed, instead savoring having the apartment to myself. I'm taking one class on television genres, which I've very much looking forward to. Perhaps it will be like this South Park class? Or perhaps we will touch on Buffy Studies. I'm just excited I'll be reading House and Philosophy, although much less to be Reading Sex and the City, but I'm sure it will be interesting.

Finally, here's my 2009 Deadpool:

eBay Date

Watch this item. It's gone up over $3k since I was told about it this afternoon and it still has a few weeks out. I wonder what other celebrity meets(?) this seller has arranged or whatever. The whole thing is weird, but proceeds go to charity.

The Merc with a Mouth has a pretty face too

Ryan Reynolds is Deadpool. That kicks so much ass. Wade Wilson isn't supposed to be a very pretty person after he receives his healing factor; the mask hides hideous scarring and whatnot, but Reynolds has the mouth for the part. I doubt he'll break the fourth wall in the film, but I would be elated if he did. I like to describe Deadpool as a mix of the wit of Peter Parker and superpowers of Logan, but really, he's ninja spider-man. I haven't been following this that closely as I wasn't crazy about the X-Men Trilogy. It was alright, but it didn't really compare to the Spider-man series. I feel this film may have some redeeming potential, since it will include Gambit. In addition to the Wolverine origin film, they have one about Magneto in production, but it doesn't have it's own Wikipedia article yet.

Also, they cast Martian Manhunter for the Justice League movie, but that's not as cool. If that movie is a success, we can probably expect one about the Teen Titans 2 years later. Then maybe Legion of Superheroes, but probably not.

Item Found

I found the image using the search engine Answers.com. I didn't expect it either, so take that! By this point the search itself had become more important than the image. I even looked at gossip sites thinking it might have been posted there if deemed too unsavory for other outlets to publish. They are both attractive women, don't get me wrong, but I still find Jenna Fischer, among others, much more attractive than either of them. I would feel bad if I didn't link to the website where I found them.

The payoff was rather weak compared to the amount of time searching, although I have honed my search-fu in this adventure (level up!). The real loot was found here in the pictures of Finding Nemo on ice. Even with watermarks, I find them amusing.

Hopping in the Lotus Position

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has died. He wasn't on my deadpool, sadly. He hadn't been in the spotlight for some time. His political party had dissolved by the time I had learned of it. It's a real shame, because we may now never know if yogic flying can end poverty and create national force fields. I'm less interested in learning yogic flying than I am in learning the yoga flame. The Maharishi is survived by his website.

What I Watched Tonight

It's always a little weird when you see people on television who you've heard on the radio. Today I found out what writer Byron Beck, a frequent mention on The Rick Emerson Show, looks like. That girl talked to him on PDX 49, because they were showing the episode of The Simpsons with John Waters and the gay steel workers. I guess because Byron Beck is gay? He didn't talk about any upcoming project of his or anything that I saw; he danced with the station hostess or whatever. After that I watched How I Met Your Mother, which while entertaining, at least 15% of that is due to Alyson Hannigan, if not more. Suddenly, a pilot! A new show! It just came out of nowhere, so I watched it. I enjoyed Welcome To The Captain. It wasn't amazing or anything. I'll admit the two largest reasons I continued to watch were sloth and unending loyalty to the Arrested Development cast. I spent a few minutes trying to place Joanna Garcia, first thinking she might have been Kristen Bell, finally realizing I recognized her from Reba. I feel very foolish for this mistake and guilty for recognizing anyone from the cast of Reba. I don't know if the show will take off (it has a decent hook[likes a pretty girl in his building but whoops she has a long distance boyfriend, will he get the girl?], but a shaky premise[he lives in a strange apartment building with lots of interesting neighbors, so what?]). I was really tempted to bust out a triple bracket there, but I felt I was pushing it as is. I apologize! I hope it does well; I want all the cast of Arrested Development to do well (and not do this). Also, I wouldn't mind to continue seeing Joanna Garcia a little more either. At least, until Heroes reclaims that Monday night time slot.

Michael Cera in a Funny Or Die video

Did you know Michael Cera was the voice of Brother Bear on the cartoon version of the Berenstain Bears? It's true!

Anyways, I don't frequent Funnyordie.com often, but I really should, because this had me giggling:

Dark Knight Status

People keep asking; I don't have answers. There probably are no answers yet. All I have, at the moment, is what IMDB says: Post-Production. Which means it could have no effect on the movie, but who knows yet. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Will the viral marketing continue?

Pink Ranger's Myspace

It's not as cool as the Black Ranger's myspace, because she didn't completely fade into obscurity following the show (remember Suzie Q with Jimmy Olsen?) and makes music or something. Eh, I'll probably still send a friend request.

Here's how she describes herself in the About section:
I fluctuate from happy to sad more than five times in one day and I always enjoy the ride… When I want something I focus my entire being in that direction and either it’s a win or it’s a failure but at least I definitely tried… I do better alone than with a partner… I hope for magic and live in a daydream… I love to break the rules for the sake of an interesting life… I do nothing small… probably because I am… I flow with creative passion and jump from project to project chasing the wave of inspiration… Happiness to me is an important part of this great adventure… happiness to me is when I am in the flow of living in harmony with my insides… Happiness to me is when my brain doesn’t run the ship… is when I am on autopilot… when wisdom is silence.

Oddly, that's sort of what I expected.

The Black Ranger's Myspace

I love the internet! This is the personal website of Walter Emanuel Jones, best know as the Black Ranger of Mighty Morphin fame. It bothered me intensely that he had the power of the mastodon, which is not a dinosaur. Neither is saber-tooth tiger. And a pterodactyl is a pterosaur.

Flash Movie

The greatest problem I see with making a decent Flash movie is, which one? There are four Flashes. Secondly, who does he fight? Flash has doesn't have the rogues gallery that other heroes have. He has a super-genius gorilla he fights, but really? Maybe Mirror Master.

Cursory:
Adam Brody will be the Flash in the JLA movie, if and when it takes off, but in a stand-alone Flash feature, Ryan Reynolds is considered.

This is Adam Brody:

This is Ryan Reynolds:

Here's some guy talking about this. Here's a the wikipedia article about it with the quote pertaining:

The Flash in other media - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Film

In December 2004, David S. Goyer was attached to write and direct a superhero filmfictional DC Comics character The Flash.[2] Goyer expressed interest in having actor Ryan Reynolds portray Wally West,[3] with Reynolds expressing his own interest in the role.[4] In June 2005, Goyer was still developing the first script draft for The Flash and had yet to finalize negotiations with Reynolds.[5] In February 2007, Goyer departed from the project, citing creative differences with the studio.[6] Goyer's script was considered dark-themed,[7] including both Barry AllenMike Baron, Mark Waid, and Geoff Johns.[8] based on the and Wally West as The Flash and drawing on seminal comicbook runs by

Later in February 2007, director Shawn Levy was announced to be attached to The Flash and to oversee the writing of the new draft, which would use elements of Goyer's script.[7] Ryan Reynolds expressed interest in the role once more of The Flash if the new script's incarnation was Wally West.[9]

In October 2007, director David Dobkin said that he was signed on to direct The Flash, replacing Shawn Levy. Dobkin said that the film would work as a spin-off from the upcoming Justice League of America film. He said that the incarnation of the Flash would be Wally West.[10]

Justice League

It has been reported that Adam Brody will be portraying the Flash in the upcoming Justice League film.

Nerd Alert

Aside from being an excellent Aquabats song, a nerd alert is what you would hear if I had sound effects on this blog. I am currently checking out this wikipedia article for gossip about upcoming superhero films, after which I will probably complain and make my own pithy suggestions for who should be playing Plastic Man (NEIL FLYNN)

Ellen Feiss

Years ago, there was a commercial. It was a really good commercial. You probably remember it.

She sorta looks like this girl I had a crush on in middle school.

I exercised a little search-fu, quickly learning her name was misspelled on that Youtube video and that she was in an French short film called Bed and Breakfast. She's approximately the same age as me, and thus likely to be socially networked. It probably wouldn't be to difficult to find her actual dox, but I always find the fake stuff so much more interesting. Her top friends include Carl Winslow and Mr Skin. There were several fakies, as there often are with (in)famous individuals (I have Gob from Arrested Development on mine) like Stephen Colbert, but this was the most substantial of the lot:
